What is the Scottish Rite?

The Scottish Rite is a Masonic organization that continues a Master Mason’s education beyond the first three degrees. Other examples of Masonic-affiliated organizations are: The Shrine (Shriners), York Rite, Grotto, Eastern Star, DeMolay International, Job’s Daughters, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

The Scottish Rite meets on the 1st Monday of every month at 7:00 pm.

Welcome to the Ancient and Accepted
Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
Orient of Alabama
Valley of Huntsville

The Scottish Rite is one of the appendant bodies of Freemasonry that a Master Mason may join for further exposure to the principles of Freemasonry.

In the United States the Scottish Rite is officially recognized by Grand Lodges as an extension of the degrees of Freemasonry. The Scottish Rite builds upon the ethical teachings and philosophy offered in the craft lodge, or blue lodge, through dramatic presentation of the individual degrees.

As Personal Rep for the Huntsville Valley, I hope this website can be of assistance to you, our brethren.
